The altercation took place during the Strikeforce Shamrock vs Diaz card during 4/11/09 in San Jose, CA inside the HP Pavilion. Tito Ortiz has stated that “I might need a tuneup before Babalu, but I feel great. It’s the first time in six years that I can wake up without pain.”

This fight was rumored in July of 2008 between the two to happen in Affliction.
